Went to the South Africa Air Force museum today. After doing some work.
Saw various planes and engines, including a Spitfire next to a Merlin. All aviation museums have a Spitfire and a Merlin, it's obligatory.
And the last time I saw a Vampire, was in the de Havilland museum at London Colney, home to the prototype Mosquito and a troop-carrying glider, amongst others.
Troop carrying gliders - a disposable aircraft.
A plane that didn't even have to last as long as a £5 Ikea coffee table.
Anyway - the Vampire.
Following on from yesterday seeing the wildlife, today I got a bit more acquainted with some of it.
I had carpaccio as a starter.
Smoked crocodile (eek!) Kudu and Springbok.
At least I ate the antelopes
after I'd gone to visit them. I'd have been embarrassed to look them in the eyes after eating their rellies.
And thankfully it was me eating the crocodile, rather than the other way round...
