The honky tonking Moe Bandy

I've got a Moe Bandy LP somewhere, one that he did as a co-operation with (googles...) Joe Stampley

My suggestion for out of the ordinary covers is;

This (could have chosen something by 'The Cramps' (I've got this LP, & it is bright pink!!!)

I've also got this LP, & I can't help but wonder if it's where Lady Ga-Ga got the idea for the meat-dress from??

Can't believe no one has posted up Guns 'n' Roses Appetite yet, (the banned Robot Rape cover) not that I advocate it's connotations, but it is fantastic & I own it, sadly a bit damaged.

Other things I admire are album art where different materials are used, tins, wooden boxes, wallpaper etc, pop ups & the like.

I love nearly all Iron Maidens, Eddie artwork too.

Dying art, of course.

Many of my CDs have covers which are reduced versions of the LP.

Presumably, albums released only on CD have artwork designed that size.

Very limiting, a booklet stuffed into the jewel box is not the same as a gatefold sleeve.

Oh well, here's the last time The Stones made anything worth listening to before drifting off into self-parody. Beggars Banquet, 1968. Here's the inner cover.

I actually had a copy of this, which I cut down the middle (it was a folder) to mount on the wall, only finding out later that uncut it would have been worth a lot of money:

Sticky fingers..... with working zip

.. and the unfolding desk of Alice Cooper's "Schools Out" (Mine still contains the edible knickers!)

THe cover looked like this:

But unfolded into a desk with contents...

Then to cap it all the sleeve was a pair of edible knickers

Isn't that one, a bit sort of, gay?

Manfred Mann's Earth Band went one further....

The cover was the "deed" entitling you to a square foot of a Welsh mountain

"The owner of this album is entitled to rights over one square foot of the earth situated at Llanfrechfa in the County of Brecon, Wales, Great Britain, subject to registration by December 31, 1975."

It made the album cover a formal contractual document!!!!
