I don;t know if this has been mentioned before.
Why do modern bikes have so much black on them ie wheel rims,.stems,handlebars,cranks etc.,is it because its cheaper
I much prefer the shiny stuff

So it looks tatty after only a year or two with all the rubs and scratches. Then you've got to buy a new bike. Hope that helps.
