The crew of LS-H.

Brings it to life doesn't it ? These were real aircraft with real stories. Non of my dads work was accidentally or made up, he researched everything, squadrons, aircraft serials etc. He had many many books, all for reference on particular aircraft.

Here she is again, by the looks of it some time later when she was reduced to serving as an instructional airframe. you can see there are 5 more raid tally marks.

No photo but sat at home, ears pricked as an aircraft flew over...my immediate thought was Dakota ?
Couldn't see it but a quickly ok at adsb ...its a Beech 18, G-BKGM twin engine from 1952.

Dakota ran on P&W Twin Wasps...the Beech on Wasp Juniors apparently so the sound comparison was there perhaps.
With hindsight, I've seen this aircraft overhead a few times.

That particular Beech lives at the strip at Alscot Park (the former RAF Stratford bomber base).

Found another couple of dads works, unfinished (unframed), Inevitably with the amount of work he did, there will have been some that just never sold, he never got round to finishing etc etc, hence these odd ones

What never ceases to amaze me, is he (to the best of my knowledge) never did any of the V bombers, particularly the Vulcan which he worked on for years at Scampton.

Watched as G-SPIT flew over, Mk XIV, clipped wings. Watching it on ADSB, looks like it's doing a sweep all around Cambridgeshire, circling here, circling there, covering what seem like quite some distance....but probably an hours run about.

We heard more than saw a Spitfire TIX pass by York on its way to Church Fenton (AKA Leeds East airport) while we were at the allotment this afternoon.

I like planes and I always wanted to be a Pilot.

Sat in the garden today and saw a strange phenomenon. Aircraft at altitude leaving contrails...but there was a visible but indistinct dark line in front of it, going into the distance

Not sure if you can pick it up. I googled it and found so eone had asked exactly the same question but sadly just got stupid answers...

I was walking along the Ridgeway near Wantage on Friday and heard this approaching, but couldn’t see it. Then it appeared from behind the hedge, flying slowly parallel to the track. I took a video but they are a pain to upload here so here’s a screenshot from it.

Aircraft headed (roughly) North. Sun would have been west'ish, afternoon's.
It's obviously relating to light, but I'm interested why, how ?
Not that it matters in the scheme of things, just idle curiosity
