Lol - I think I meant slow in terms of character development (i.e long building up of a picture of the relationship between the main characters) rather than the pace of the collection of 'incidents' which were used to do this... did that make any more sense?

Yes, actually it did. But I guess that's because we are so used to mainstream US films having no character development whatsover other than - 'he's an alcoholic ex-cop but he's the only man who can save the world' / 'she's a scientist but she's hot too' / 'funny-looking foreign guy, probably a wrong un'

I think that's a pitch that could just get made actually... all I need is a few million quid and the right cast and it will write itself...
