I don't know why there isn't a cycling program on the TV. Must be enough interest to justify it, if you cover all kinds of cycling.

I doubt it. Each type of cycling has it's followers, but I'm not sure that even all together it would be a huge rating puller. I suppose the Beeb, thanks to the unique way it's funded, could stick it's neck out, but...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it, but as long as it didn't default to racing and the sport side all the time, as I have very little interst in that - that's why I rarely buy C+, too racy. On the other hand, how many people here want to see articles about recumbents and using bikes to deliver veg to old folk? (Well, apart from Velo Vision readers, and that's some of what you're getting this time!)

It's the sort of thing that might do well on the internet - a visual podcast sort of thing. Maybe we should all make our oen 10 minute segments and bung them on Youtube. (or here, come to think of it, actually, maybe that is an idea, the CC TV channel...)

Some internet videos of bicycle and other things do pretty well, it's a good idea. I don't think a programme on the tv would work at all though I think cycling is far too specialised to be able to make a general interest programme on it. It's failed with plenty of other things.

Ski Sunday has survived for years and even went with a new format this winter. Is skiing any more popular than cycling? I doubt it.

Ski Sunday is a sports programme though, that's a totally different kettle of fish. It's not like it is a general interest Ski programme.

The only I hsve seen Top Gear in the last 15 years, they had a race between a bicycle, a boat, public transport and a car, across London. No prizes for guessing which won and which was last. Shame they didn't learn the lesson, bike is best...

What did it include though? If it included racing and stuff I can understand that just about working.

no, from what I can remember (which is not a lot) it was quite general. Lots of lovely shots of swooping turns through the countryside. My kind of thing.

Start a petition to the BBC - go on! - Cycling Plus v Top Gear at the Rad am Ring 24hr bike race this summer. (I've just thrown don the gauntlet to 'em...)

How about Greedo and Mr Pig as Co-presenters or User and Joe24?
