Yea your are right no brake cables. So will need to buy a new length of cable as doubt I will be able to reuse of connect the existing brake cable to the new shifter?

Coated cables would be nice as when adjusting or feeding cables they usually fray and then end up slicing ur fingers with the sharp ends lol
No reason why you'd need new brake cables, release them from the other side of the arms (like when you remove the wheel) then they will come out of the levers. refit in the reverse order and you shouldn't even need a spanner.:biggrin:

so release them at break pads and then connect to the new shifters? Sorry bit of a novice

Cheers. I'll be buying the shifters tomorrow. Should I buy anything else?

Shopping list so far is:

Brake/gear shifters
New grips
New housing
Hairspray ;)
