Weather reports?

Is there anywhere on the web that shows a record of what the weather was on a given day?
What it has been, not what it might do?

Sometimes I think it'd be interesting to see what the actual weather records are for the conditions I've been riding in. ie. Was it really a 60mph headwind or merely 6mph? or did 18" of rain really fall between 2pm and quarter past last Tuesday?

This site gives you an hourly breakdown for a given location for the previous 24 hours (select previous 24hr in the menu on the left).

I always use this site for forecasts, it is much more detailed than most and gives useful data for given hobbies - including cycling.

Set your preferences for Britain, Strength, Data in the pop-up menus top left and then 'mouse over' the arrow on the map that's closest to your location. It gives you the current conditions and the data for the past several hours along with the forecast.

I use Metcheck almost on an almost daily basis, I just hadn't looked further than the forecasting section .

I use the Met Office, it also gives past 24h data, I wonder what goes beyond that, ie 2 day ago ?

Look for the local weather enthusiasts ... mine down here in Bristol is:

It is particulary satisfying when its been really wet to get back and see what how much rain it thinks has fallen. Or on really windy days, to see how much it is gusting before going out. That particular site has records online going back about 3 years now, so you can compare whether it is wetter than previous years for example. But follow the links at the bottom of the site to get to weather stations in other areas.

And linking to another thread which has been saying how wet its been the 7 day graph shows Bristol has had 0.4 mm this last week.

The only thing is the weather can vary a great deal locally so I notice differences between that site and where I live.
