A bit late with my reply but no i wasn't. I kind of banned myself from using headphones about ten years ago, when i was advised not to use them, as they were affecting my hearing.

Common sense should tell you where to stop with the volume control. I love headphones & have several pairs as well as a dedicated listening rig. They can sound incredible.

I always had the volume turned up to about no 8 or 9 out of 10. The ringing noise has stopped over the years so i did the right thing in stopping using them. It all started when i saw Slade play in a local night club in 1978. I put my head in one of those hollow speakers for about 5 minutes.

No-where near as good as a properly set up pair of speakers with decent amplification though.

Except that it was never Paul Young:

"Paul Young had nothing whatsoever to do with "Toast", a single performed by a band with someone in it who by pure chance had the same name."

It says so on the internet, so it must be true.

(I enjoyed the Gangster, BTW :okay:)
 and just happens to be his double, who'd have thunk it.
