fortunately I was quite near home so walked, not too bad although i fixed it in the pissin rain later on

On the positive side, the rain lubricated the tyre bead and assisted removal and replacement

It had to happen - farmer has been cutting hedges for the past couple of days. 15 mins into ride this morning so roadside repairs. Halfords had a 3 for 2 offer on inner tubes recently so stocked up. I will be repairing tube at lunchtime.

How many patches do people put on before binning the tube? I'd put on 2 patches and then throw.
