Hi Everyone,
I have a budget of £1500 to get a new road bike that plan to use mainly for Club rides and long distance events.

I know I want disc brakes and ideally a 105 group set but aside from that I am spoiled for choice.

I have seen a few bikes that have caught my eye but I do not know if I should go for Carbon or Aluminium as this price range.

Ribble R872

Canyon AL7 disc

But I also came across this and was astonished that Ultegra is in my price range. Even if it is rim brake.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Not sure I could bring myself to buy a bike right now when demand is high as well as prices. That said, they all look nice bikes.

Of them, the Ribble looks smart. Not much choice at minute till late Autumn they say but will still pay full price then, so if ya like, just buy and enjoy every minute 👍

Im a fine weather cyclist so would be getting the Ultegra VAN RYSEL. Think it looks much nicer than the other two as well. Never like mid or light blue on a bike and rims always look better than discs imo. £200 left over to spend on kit is a nice plus.

If it was me, I would be going with the Ribble. The welds on the Canyon are fugly, and while the Van Rysel is better specced grouspset wise, you've said you want discs.

This ^^ as groupset can always be upgraded (it's only really the shifters any how if you stay with the same speed) but a non disc frame will never take discs!
