Not as bad as I thought, not cheap, but if you have the bike then they are a must.

I eat and drink for about £30 without making any attempt to save money and that includes cafe visits. Getting it under £20 would mean cutting out the cafes, chocolate, and half of the fresh fruit that I normally eat. I'd rather not do that, but I could.

You can buy 1 kg of porridge oats for well under £1, and tinned tomatoes and kidney beans for under 25p if you shop around. A litre of UHT milk for under 50p and so on.

Arch is doing well to get by on sub-£20 but there are a lot of people having to do it these days!
