most of the peds are either crossing without looking or at the end, standing in the road

I like that vid a lot, it is what it is, a one off blast showing off for the camera

no idea what people's problem is with it

Would you be ok if it was a video of people driving like that through a busy city center?

Hyperbole I know, but seriously, think how horrendous that would be.

And you have not with your previous post? A rant peppered with swear words, wonders will never cease.

I don't see how being angry and sweary undermines my sentiment. Unprofessional certainly, but this is an internet forum, not a court of law.

Don't be annoyed at me or those in the vid just cause you cannot ride like that but wish you could if you wanted to but can't!

Seriously, what skill is required to ride like a dick? I can ride fairly fast, and I'm sure I could ride like a total dick if I wanted to.

Just because you like to ride like that doesn't make it 'good'. Did you used to be one of them, then? Were you a cycle courier before you became a trucker?

I'm jealous that I can't ride like that, but they're being complete knobs. They'll have scared a lot of drivers, genuinely darting out of nowhere and crossing their paths and weaving around on the wrong side of the road.

Like an earlier poster I am a rare visitor to these parts these days - and these video seems to re-emerge every so often. It is quite exciting to watch but the cyclists themselves are terribly skillful - they are relying upon the skills and alertness of other road users. To my mind it is very similar to the way that cabbies make progress - they can judge a gap to get through but only if someone else moves out the way - they are relying upon somebody else to do something for them. It strikes me as astoundlingly selfish for both sets of road users.

It's like a real world computer game so I suppose it gets them out of their bedrooms, still a bunch of w**k stains with no concept of shared space. Not so sure on the skills bit, maybe a misuse of skills.

Great music though and I do chuckle when the guy falls off at the start before even getting out of the car park.

Though watching it puts me in mind of our very own, Man Mountain, speed king, the being known as 'O'. I reckon he could leave them all for dust

LOL not at all, good forward thinking and planning.

Not at all. It's just bullying. They don't know if that pedestrian is come out a little further. They don't know if that cyclist is going to stay left. It hasn't happened before so it won't happen. They are relying too much upon someone else taking avoiding action which in my books is plain bullying. A little more courtesy...

(Slow, sarcastic applause whilst watching video) Oh well done participants, it must take real cojones to ride like a complete cretin, I wish I could do that! In the words of Chris Eubank, stupid stupid stupid!

An experienced cyclist can read the road and predict what other people will do. It becomes an instinct. Good reactions and reflexes compensate for the occasional misjudgement.
But riding within the Law takes a lot more skill than doing whatever you please. I wouldn't try to keep up with this lot, but I wonder if they could keep up with me without breaking any laws.

I am puzzled to see how a muppet doing stupid speeds across ped crossings through people who are appearing from behind vehicles does this via "sound forward thinking" when clearly it's a huge element of luck (and self preservation kicking in on the part of the peds) involved rather than skill.

Exciting in parts to watch, but one still can't help feeling that if they were hit due to running the red across a main junction, you wouldn't feel too sorry for them, and would expect to see a crowd of people clapping.

Me thinks you are trying to take sound forward thinking and riding and turn it on it's head.

That's how I ride my bike and it works for me ;)
