What? Manchester?! Eurgh

I think one of my earliest memories of CC was of a (the?) thread where Arch became a girl...!
This is a common problem....

I'm pretty sure I always knew Arch was a girl - but I'm sure half of you are girls and just pretend you're beardy blokes for a laugh.
Congratulations, and lovely to hear from you.
True love and bikes, what more could the world ask for?!

What a nice post, @Night Train - it is lovely to hear how well you are both getting on!

Funnily enough, I was thinking about the two of you last week after I noticed this ...

I have finally nearly caught up with Arch's post count!

Here's a photo that I took of NT and Arch when I met them in Hebden Bridge ...

Well, 10 years and 5 days ago (I was busy and forgot) I joined Cycle Chat.
The first message I got was a welcome message from some chap called Arch who was based in York.

Arch seemed like a nice chap so I stayed and chatted on the forum, and figured I would quite like to meet Arch one day, and maybe go for a ride together.

Then I had that 'Arch is a girl????' moment that so many others of that era also had.

Anyway, we did meet up....

And then met up some more....

And chatted about trains, and engineering, and visited the National Railway Museum quite a few times until we began dating in November 2010.

We married in June 2014 and Arch moved to Manchester. We are very happy and work as Makers together turning our hand to bike related stuff occasionally but also now museum installations.

I have never been happier in life, I think Arch feels likewise.

Not been on the forum for a long long time now but will always remember this place as where it all started.

Thank you Shaun, and everyone else who knows/remembers us.
Nice to see you stopping by. Good to know things are going well for you two. Very briefly met Arch on the first FNRttC from York, to Cleethorpes in 2010, she just stopped by to see us on our way. She was onna trike as I recall.

Just makes being part of this forum even more special. I have met some amazing people who I hope don't mind being called friends. The social side is a big plus and the rides I attend are just brilliant, with a good mix of people who just want to get out and ride, eat cake and drink coffee without any worries about being too slow, having the wrong type of bike ect
