There's more than a few in there who are simply good performers or writers rather than particularly good guitarists - John Lennon would be a perfect example.

People missing? - Stochelo Rosenberg, Birelli Lagrene. Not sure I spotted Warren Haynes or David Hidalgo in there either.

Well, I wasn't entirely serious, because the list isn't about talent, it's about effect. Towner is lovely to listen to, but you might be one of a dozen. If, on the other hand, you wanted an acoustic guitarist who had, in some way, changed people's sensibilities, then how about Bert Jansch? Or would that be hoping for too much, given that Richard Thompson is in there,
