These athletes are just built differently, so efficient, smooth and graceful.
If you watch him cross the line he’s not even sweating.
I’m a soaking mess after a 30min 5km.

It appears to be the first ever race in which first, second, and third places all beat the standing world record. As they were discussing on the radio this morning, it does make you wonder how much benefit they're getting from the high tech shoes with springy carbon fibre soles.

I couldn't do 13mph on a bike, never mind on foot. I had a regular 39 mile training ride that I wanted to do in 3 hours, but I never managed it.

what about the egg and spoon race
No problem. I won that by a country mile.

There was an episode of the " Sliced Bread " podcast where among other things the benefit of the new shoe tech was discussed. Not sure exactly but the figure was about 2% iirc. ( the chap on the program was one of the top exercise physiologists from Loughborough University.
Of course it was the soes ( and the regular 125 miles per week of training, plus the gym work and the diet 😁 )

I can run 100m in 17 sec if I give it everything, sadly I can't run and ride at the same time. 🤭. Puns aside anyone that can do a marathon is hardcore in my opinion. The speed the pro,s are doing it at nowadays is unreal and shows epic dedication and training.
