I could have but couldn't be arsed to Google it
Plus it reinforces my point he's barely mentioned.....

Didn't the third place guy break the existing world record too?
I've had rides of 26 miles when I've averaged less than 13mph 😂.
Admittedly very hilly ones but to run at that pace for slightly less than 2 hours is incredible. Have to though feel for the guy in 2nd place who also went sub 2 hours but barely mentioned.
Don't know about the last 5km, but between kms 35 and 40, he was 2 seconds faster than the current Parkrun world record (13:44).Is it also true that his last-5km-time would have been not-last in the Olympics 5km final?!?
I remember when Eliud Kipchoge first broke the 2 hour marathon barrier (although in specifically controlled conditions with multiple pacers, not in a proper race like Sunday), a few weeks later they set up a treadmill at a running Expo, configured to the average pace he ran the full distance at and asked all-comers to try and see how long they could last on it. Most people barely made it 200-300 metres before falling off the back!

Noted for the quizzes, potentially...You could have done your bit by naming the person who came second. 😉

yes but he didn't have to dodge grumpy Mable and her shopping trolley and Courtney in her dry robe with 3 chihuahua exercising their right to use that public path....Don't know about the last 5km, but between kms 35 and 40, he was 2 seconds faster than the current Parkrun world record (13:44).
