Actually, I have no idea how many miles I have done this year. 10 miles a day on average 4.5 days a week, probably about 46 weeks a year.

Probably just over 2000 miles a year. Oh wait a minute I did Pedal for Scotland. make that 2055 miles

Well I only started logging my miles this year here http://cyclogs.org/home.aspx for team "cycle chat"

Just failed to make the 5000 miles last year and on schedule for 6000 this year  Still small fry compared to some on there

That's what's so scary! I won't be doing as much as you this year, that's for sure. Check out the yacf club on bikejournal - it's extremely impressive!!!!

SimonGalgut for example - he has a 50mile round trip commute, and often rides audax at the weekend.

SimonGalgut can't have any small children at home...... and he's probably not married ;-)

I joined there at the start of the month so only a few miles recorded so far - but think it is a great site to build it up - was not sure how the team thing worked, I assumed it was for people who went out in groups or something

Oooo I like the idea of a yearly miles aim! I got a computer for my birthday 25th August and since then I've done 350ish. Considering I'm about to go on a cycling holiday for a week I reckon 1000 by Christmas is achievable. In a year... what the hell, put me down for 3000 by next August 25th.

I've never cycled in the winter though so not sure how achievable it is. Especially since I've been a bit of a wimp for the last 3 days and haven't cycled in. Well, I have had the excuse that my next batch of contact lenses haven't turned up yet and my glasses don't give me peripheral vision!

Got Audax's Mileater medal back in Y2K for doing 10,000km, 9000 of which were commuting clicks.
That was my target since 1992, so when I achieved the 10,000km, I relaxed a little.
This year, my odo is on 7684km, or 4775 miles. I've got 2 1/2 months left, so I could get the 10,000km again.
About 5000 of the 7684 are commuting, the others are Audax rides.

Congrats! It's nice to hit milestones like this - it makes you feel like you've achieved something. I remember hitting the 100 mile mark on my tour earlier this year (my buddy had his computer with him) - it felt like amazing.

I really need to get myself a computer to tot up how many miles I've done... I honestly have no idea.

I joined a couple of days before you I think Marooncat  managed to hover around the top 10 CC for this month so far (distance anyway, if not speed). Seems a nice way to help keep track of your goals!

No, no, it's for everyone, join the Cyclechat team and then your miles go towards the team total.

Joined up this morning - think I will go for the slowest average speed prize

Just need to work out how to change the union jack and I will be a happy cat...
