I got myself a 5600 105, 10 speed cassette, its 11-23, now the question I have is, should there be a spacer at every level ?

The Sram one on the bike at the moment seems to but this only has 3 ?

Some rings therefore look MUCH closer than the others

If I do only need 3, what levels do I need to insert them at ?

Thanks in advance

The rings should be evenly spaced through the cassette. If you don't have enough spacers to ensure this is the case then you are some spacers short.

On the 105, you have 3 rings that are attached to each other. Then the first loose ring goes on, then a space, then a ring, then a spacer, then a ring, then a spacer. I think you then get to rings that have a built in spacer. Once the cassette is assembled it should look like there's a spacer at every level (although as you will have realised, some of these are built in to the ring)

I only know this cos I was brave enough to take mine apart at the weekend. I initially put a spacer after the 3 connected rings and thought I'd thrown one away with the dirty water....
