She announced that she'd like a pipe and tobacco as a present so that she can start smoking legally before she packs it in for good on the same day as she started.

That's a pretty short smoking career. I don't think she'll get through her first pipe bowl full.

To be fair 18 and owning a pipe is usually connected with some of the less legal fillings, but sounds like a fun present anyway, one to look back on and laugh about. I'd get down the charity shop for the pipe and find her something nice as well.

There's lots of other nice things as well. The pipe and baccy is a laugh.

She's a honest kid who does everything in moderation. She only started drinking last September and had her first hangover a fortnight ago.
