Hello, I've just been given an old 1950's claud butler fixed gear in the hope for doing it up. Does anyone think it's worth doing it up and selling it on? if so, what would be the best places to buy parts for it? It's not in the greatest condition but still quite nice.

Its worth doing up and riding, as for the 'selling it on' don't expect to make much of a profit cos if that was possible more people would be doing it.

I wouldn't use a 1950s Claud for winter riding personally. These are high end bikes, highly collectable and worth restoring properly and preserving for summer use. You will be amazed at how well it rides.

How about you let me have the CB frame and you have one of my old frames that I have in stock? I have a Ribble winter/training frame that would work for you.
