This is really bugging me. I have a vague memory of an animated children's programme dating back to the late4 60s early 70s. In it there was a girl and a boy and I seem to remember a talking reindeer. Can anyone help me out? It was likely to have been Scandinavian. Might have been a version of the Snow Queen or similar. I remember it was quite frightening in places.

Was it your 'experimental' period? LSD, maybe? Magic mushrooms?

... and an evil Dwarf?

The Singing, Ringing Tree?

Yep that'll be it. My memory is fuddled, because there's also a fair amount of the Snow Queen plot in there, so I think I'm mixing the two into one, as I was so young when I was watching it. Did the Singing Ringing Tree have a reindeer or a horse with antlers in it, and the Dwarf was a particularly nasty little bugger?

Also, the Judderman in the Metz advert sets off the same memories. Was there an East Europena/Scandinavian genre that was oft repeated?

Whoah...!. I have very vivid memories of The Singing Ringing Tree^_^. It used to be stuck on BBC1 on saturdays (?) and I never knew it was in colour!. It's out on DVD, BTW.

Yep, The Singing Ringing Tree, Tuesday after school on the BBC from the Tales From Europe series. Had nightmares about the big stranded fish that hideous bear and evil dwarf.
No wonder we all went mad in the seventies!
OT but another true classic from the Tales from Europe series was Robinson Crusoe with Robert Hoffman, a German classic with music that takes me back to that time of endless summers and a heart full of hope whenever I hear it!

Play this and see if it makes you smile too!
