Hi all,
I'm looking for some information on a bike that has been found in my Grandmother's shed. She's recently moved into a home and we're clearing out her flat. It is my Great Uncles bike and it has been in the concrete outhouse for about 30+ years. He was a keen cyclist and was a member of the Ogmore Wheelers in Ogmore Vale Bridgend. I've looked at the number stamped on the frame and it is 31729 which buy looking online I think it is from 1967. It certainly needs a good cleaning up but having checked it, the gears still work well. Obviously rust on the framework. Just an idea of a value that I could maybe get some money back for my grandmother. I have no use for it as I'm not a cyclist myself. I've added many pictures and any information would be a help. Thank you in advance

Nice wrapover stays so not shoddy by any means. Rims are Superchampion Medale D'or whiich were top notch back in the 70's as one of the lightest available. Mix and match of other kit from later as well.

Have a look on eBay to see what similar models of that vintage are going for. In that condition I'd guess around £100.
You could try advertising it on here and ask for offers, remembering we're a mean bunch of barstewards ^_^.
Can you see a Reynolds tubing sticker anywhere?
As said @biggs682 will give you a proper appraisal.

Would be worth more broken into parts sadly, for example campag large flange on Medale D'or if hubs good and rims straight (rear looks different) are £50-£80 especially if low spoke count. Look like Victory shifters which for some reason sell well,

If it is a Super Mistral then the frame should be £100 plus even in todays really depressed market.

Are you thinking of just putting it on ebay?

Thanks @Cycleops & @wisdom

The way the market is at the moment i would suggest a value of anywhere between £50 and £175 if you get the right person looking @Sonic23

Looks a nice frame shame it hasn't got a metal head badge
I think it should have a metal headbadge. No reynolds frame transfers, only 1 set of Holdsworth transfers. I reckon it was resprayed at some time. Holdsworth ‘Professionals’ also had wrap-around stays.
Brakes look very basic.

Aye they did - my first lightweight frame was a Holdsworth Professional - sloping crown forks tho'

Assuming the kit is original, it's no older than 1971, as that was the year the Shimano Titlist derailleur was first sold.

I reckon in the condition it's in you're looking at £75-£100, and maybe a bit either way. Sadly it would likely be worth more for parts, but it's a decent quality bike and deserves to be revived.
