  • Top tube measurement from center of headtube to center of seattube is: 23.5"
  • Down tube is 24.5" from center of headtube to center of what I guesstimated is the center of the BB shell.
  • Seat tube is approx. 22.5" from what I could estimate (since the top of the seat tube is purposely, decoratively curved, I picked the highest point, and again, estimated the center of the BB shell which appears to be about the size of a Euro BB in circumference)

I picked this up about 9 yrs ago and it is a British spec Dawes Super Galaxy in Burnt Cherry. I believe it was used as an indoor roller because it looks like it was in a vault most of its life, and it is missing brakes. Apart from some paint(?) over splatter (small white dots in a few spots) the patina is gorgeous if you ask me.

I originally got it for the Stronglight cranks to use on a BMX project, but then when I fully considered the condition of this bike, some of my BMX bros convinced me not to deconstruct it for the cranks.

So here it is. I know the UK road heads really dig these. And this one still has the orig. bike shop decal. Apart from missing a Brooks B17 seat, brakes and the bars(?) I think the rest is all to specs.

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
Looks like a great bike. You should have no trouble finding brake levers and calipers with new cables and associated fitting to go with it.
I love the drilling on the crankset.

Thanks for all the great comments.
This will most likely be in the vintage for sale section since I’m not into road bikes that much. If it sells from this site, I will pledge some site support.

I would also entertain trades for old bmx bikes/parts.

PS: Hey guy, you mentioned the Suntour VX derailleur.. it is also stamped GT

I think its because it spent most of its life indoors on a roller.. but at one time the brakes were used because there is slight brake-rub on the rims
