Bargain!
£499 for 105 group set and 501 wheels- practically giving them away.

Looks good assuming you are no taller than 5'6 and even then a 50cm frame seems small

No test ride possible unless you are near their stores. That was never a £1200 bike imo

I'd find another £100 and look at the defy 2 or check decathlon offerings or the used market

The Halcyon is really quite a good spec at that price, R500 wheels are good budget wheels, 105 speaks for itself, carbon forks, although the frame is an unknown quantity, but looks good.
biggs bike looks very good too, I sold my 3 year old, well used Bianchi for the same price he's seeling an effectively brand new bike. If it fits, youd struggle to better it.

I'd agree with Vickster. It's not a bike I would pay £1,200 for, but with 105 it still looks like a good deal. Available sizes are obviously an issue and it's crucial you don't fall in to the trap of ordering something that is a size or two too small just because it is a killer deal. There are still going to be 2014 models out there, being sold at good prices, so look around a bit first my friend.

If you know your size and are prepared to buy online, you could get this for £500, the higher 9 speed Sora rather than 8 speed Claris

At 5'5 you may struggle with what they have though size wise, I reckon you'd be a 51cm (a friend of mine has the women's version, same height as you, has a 51)

Or there's the slightly racier CAAD 8 http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m7b0s6p5227/CANNONDALE-CAAD8-SORA-2013

Or you can always try to strike a deal with your LBS :okay: They are usually willing to do something on price, maybe some free stuff (as long as avoiding C2W)

Looking at your link, the smallest they have for the Scott is 54cm, which will be too big. A too big bike is about the worst thing you can spend your money on even if it seems a deal (believe me, been there, done that, had the chronic tendonitis which needed surgery)

Do you have a Decathlon close by, they have good road bikes at the budget end

I have thought about buying online as it is a cheaper option, but think I might be best going to LBS due to my size so I can try before I buy
When I asked about 0% finance they offed me discount for cash,

I have been looking on website and narrowed it down to these options

http://www.birkenheadcycles.co.uk/products.php?show=3172

it wouldn't let me copy and paste the comparison page so here are the 3 I have narrowed it down to

Your link doesn't show any specific bikes just the home page :smile:

There are other bike shops around Liverpool, Picton cycles and Giant store to name but two

@Dave7
@mythste are up that way
