I did this route 25 years ago with my 15 year old lad. It wasn't particularly well signposted then but we didn't get lost too often and finished without the use of any electronic kit. However we did it again as a group for a stag day about 12 years ago and again every year for four years afterwards. It is now pretty well signposted but there is a steep uphill section and a similar downhill section where you really have to keep your eyes out for a turn that's easily missed. If it wasn't for a bloke coming up the hill waving at us to stop we'd have hurtled miles down the hill in the wrong direction.
