I do put her first in just about all other aspects of life you know!...this cycling lark was always my little interest until she muscled in on it this summer - She didn't even ride 'til this year! All other aspects of our life (house we bought, area we live in, car I drive, 'toys' I avoid buying etc etc) have been based around her and our children. I'm not bitter, I love our family and our lives, but this was my one little treat to myself to go for a high(ish)-end bike. Now you're telling me I have to compromise on that too....if I knew how I'd insert a tearful smiley at this point!

No I'm not saying compromise, I'm saying why not share it with her. You get your bike now, and save up for her bike if you don't think she is going to use it this side of winter there is no rush, and then buy her's in the spring time?

Oh dear! Poor you

Perhaps she can contribute to getting a better bike. £800 for you on C2W, £200 cash from each of you?

Or sell the children and buy her a £10k bike

That explains why so many are disappearing around Manchester if that's the going rate,
The rate is probably more as she also gets a new kitchen, car, weekly flowers and chocs and several spa weekends a year ;) Plus all the housework done, so she can enjoy the other spoils

Sounds like the perfect solution to me...I can feel another thread coming on as I know nothing about women's bikes, at £400 or anyprice.

:-O
Why not do a search on the main sites and then post links, means you can support your wife in the choice. You'll also have a better idea of what she'll like. This comes up on here, so use the search function too ;)
