hey y'all!

So I've been having fun poodling around with my new cam recently (somehow having a cam on my head and reviewing largely unexciting footage IS fun) and thought I'd post a couple of close passes from within the last few days that I'd experienced.

More than welcome to have any comments, criticism or otherwise...first time I've posted anything like it before, usually my channel is music-related but I'm hoping to post more good and bad things cycling related over the next few months! I haven't labelled the number plates of either car, just because looking at the vids they don't seem that perilous - but at the time these were pretty damn close and scary!

That bit of road is a nightmare - I've had more aggression on that road than any other, including a guy swerving at me deliberately and then trying to punch me when I told him off! (apparently I should have stopped behind parked cars to let him pass rather than staying nicely outside the door zone at 18mph on a 2 lane road). Camden in general is rife with close passes and d*cks

I wouldn't personally bother with uploading passes like that.
Whilst they may be too close, the video doesn't really show us just how close and most viewers won't see it at all.

It is one thing that is hard to get right, how you choose what to put online, if anything.

I'm not sure your primary is strong enough when going past the coaches.

Those are not close passes for London

Seriously if you look at the width of the gap between the kerb/coach and the overtaking taxi/van, you have quite a bit of room there. Its may feel uncomfortable but that's the sort of space you need to be comfortable with in London.

I had a close pass today.. From a road cyclist speeding past me in the mid twenties! Probably only about 1 foot away, on an extremely wide road with no traffic! I was taking a little break and pootling along at about 15mph when he approached and wizzed passed me silently - Almost jumped out of the saddle in surprise!

Fair enough on all points...the passes were closer than it looks considering the cam is mounted on top rather than side, but as I say, hairier at the time than it looks watching back.

My mistake with the coaches was thinking I was taking up enough of the lane not to encourage drivers to drive round me through the opposite lane!

I guess they're both fair points, surely I shouldn't be riding flush up against parked vehicles though? The taxi is less of a point, except I was moving slightly to take the lane and like the car passing the coaches, I would have thought both could have waited the extra 3-5 seconds to get round me. Thanks for the comments though!

Yeah this is why I like heading to the regents park boundary when I have time for a concentrated ride, I know that I'm unlikely to come into any stoppages or issues...Camden is fun to ride through but traffic gets pushy.
