You do like the word 'blinkered'. Remarkable.

Cycling 20 miles and NOT sweating, not ending up with sweat wet clothing, is impossible however gently you cycle.

The guy at work who cycles a couple of miles each way already stinks out the rest room with his deoderant which he sprays on his lardy obese body in copious amounts. The cloud of spray wears off after about 15 minutes then his natural BO re-asserts itself choking anyone brave enough to enter the 'zone'. The guy is a slob. I suspect his poor diet is the real reason he has such awful BO lots of crisps, pizzas, ready made sandwiches, a tube of crisps for lunch and 2 litres of coke.

No it's not.

I often ride with my wife and daughter which can be at a very relaxed pace without sweating (any more than if I was walking).

Why don't you take Norm's point and the fair few "likes" of his post at face value, instead of a pretty nowty reply?

I'd have to agree with norm, I can cycle 20miles without sweating but I can also cycle 3miles and sweat, it depends a lot on the intensity for me, the ambient temperature or if something is on my back, etc

Because basically I think it's bollox. I don't care if Norm has 10,000 likes for his post. He's wrong and so are his fanboys ;) . As I say show me the man or woman who can cycle 20 miles without secreting a single drop of sweat. And you can't cycle at 5mph for the whole day.

A single drop of sweat is not sufficient to make you smell repulsive, otherwise every Tube commuter (in summer a much warmer activity than a sedate bike ride) would have that problem. You're extrapolating from a single extreme example to make claims about the general case that are simply not supported by the facts

Never mind about the arguments about smell and sweat, there's no way I'd want to sit at my desk after my commute without showering

It just wouldn't be comfortable

I rode in yesterday and this morning and was a little sweaty after 2.5 miles but I commute in a jersey dress, vest top, jersey cotton leggings, biker boots and a BITB Altura jacket. Nothing that a shower beforehand and a quick splash of water on the face can't deal with and my colleagues aren't ones for holding their tongues so I'm sure they'd let me know soon enough if I was to pong.

Rode in this morning, it was raining again and I forgot my gloves...I think its safe to say this will be the standard for a few months now hehe...

I'm not too keen on riding without gloves in case of an "spill". "Leatherette" fingerless in summer and Sealskinz in the winter.

Go on, tilt your head!
I picked up the Aldi gloves during the Cycling event (along with all my other winter gear)....they do the job when I remember to put them on haha
