A Minging Manc...
This was my first adult roadbike which I bought myself during the journey to/from an overnight stay on my 10th wedding anniversary (as you do ). Saw the beautiful bright GT bike in a shop window on the way there and called in 'just for a look' on the way back . The paint scheme and the fact it was a GT to join the GT MTB & Hybrid bikes I already had are what really clinched the deal.

It was like the sun shone every time I rode it, but roll on nearly 5yrs and a crack resulted in a warranty claim to GT who replaced it with a frame from the top of the range 2014 series 1 (hence the change of colour, which was disappointing at first but quickly grew on me and actually looks great and suits the bikes personality). The 'New' bike was IMO even better. Nippier, quicker acceleration off the mark and improved handling at speed, but by this time I was already moving onto my next road bike, something more all-road biased, a semi gravel bike. As a result this bike was relegated to spare in the hope that one of my sons would get the road cycling bug (they never did) so having had very little use in recent years it is time it moved on to a good home where it will be properly used and enjoyed.

  • FSA 34/50 chainset.
  • Recent new 11-28 cassette to replace stock 11-25 cass for easier climbing.
  • Front wheel rebuilt with matching Tiagra hub and Swiss DT butted spokes to match (because I'm fussy like that ).
  • XL aluminium frame. 55cm seat tube, 57.5cm top tube (IMO that makes it a Large, but it fits my 6' 1" body perfectly).
  • Vittoria Zaffiro 25mm tyres
  • Sold with basic flat pedals in place of the MTB SPD pedals shown in pictures.
Bike is collection only, from Ashton-under-Lyne just to the east of Manchester. Inspection/test rides welcome by arrangement and if you have any questions or want pictures of anything specific please just ask.

T&Cs - Payment is cash on collection. Bike is sold as used/secondhand and is a private sale, so sold as seen, no warranty implied or given.

..... Probably should give it a wash before anyone comes to see it?

Took this bike out for a test ride this afternoon just for old times sake, to check everything works and to make sure I'm not unfairly describing it through rose tinted glasses.....

It was a bit odd for the first mile or two, I've been riding on flared handle bars for over 5 years now so straight drops took a bit of readjustment on my part. Once I got my feel dialled in I was flying and I can reassure any prospective buyer that this bike is definitely not outdated and will hold its own against any current bike. It will be a shame to see it go
