How ? the olympic park won't be open to the public until Spring 2013....

spring 2013 is after summer 2012 on all the calendars i have checked so far.

subaqua will know more about this, but there's a load of work to be done on the Olympic Park after the Games close - the temporary stands either side of the swimming pool have to be taken down, and the main stadium is going to have to be knocked around a lot. I suspect that eight months is an underestimate.

Dell has it in one. the "legacy" works will take a fair amount of time to complete.

basketball arena , water polo arena etc needs to come down. the aquatics alterations. the creation/alteration of ther BMX and mountain bike zone at the velopark.

the way it was explained to me is that the park stops being a construction site late June early July 2012 until just after the paralympics finish then becomes a new construction site again while the legacy works are complete.

i too think that 8 months is a large underestimate of time to complete these works.

I have asked the question with the park logistics team about canal towpaths inside the park being left open after the main games.

They are closed for 2 reasons at present. safety as its a construction site and security in the run up to the games.

hopefully I will get a sensible answer.
