How can Jordi Meeus DNS at the TdeS yesterday yet be on the start line in Copenhagen today?
Thought there were rules about that (or is it a non-UCI event?)

It's a WT race. He can leave the race if he has the race organiser's permission

Yeah, Widar was in a big crash today hence the time loss and will probably DNS tomorrow.
As for Withen, dunno what's up there.
Top 3 are nice and close going into the final stg, will be interesting day

Thanks. I only managed to catch up on stage 7 this morning (so was unaware of Widar's crash) and still haven't seen the final stage apart from the final couple of kilometres.

People have been talking as though the sky is the limit for Withen Philipsen but, as far as I'm aware, he had never been properly tested before on longish, steepish climbs. Maybe we've just found out that the limit is a little lower.

Talking of overhyping youngsters, I'm about to possibly do just that. 16 year old Benjamin Noval destroyed the field in stage 4 of the Vuelta al Besaya to win the stage and take the overall to add yet another win in an already impressive season. This kid is comfortably beating riders two years older than him. He's one to keep an eye on.

Edit: Just seen that Ineos are reported to be interested in signing him.

Bonus to that was getting to se the last few kms of Andorra Morabanc Clàssica, where my man Skjelmose took the win! Nice day for Danish cycling fans :becool:

Got home yesterday evening and spotted the result.
A new race, but the idea of a Tour of Andorra sounds great to me.
Hoping that I can find it on Tiz, as it will be towards the top of my catch up list.

I didn't manage to watch too much of the race in the end, was that where he lost time? While he's still very young I'd always assumed he was going to end up as a punchy classicist / TTer - he's a pretty big lad already and has a ridiculous power output. MvdP is probably more the model than Pog.

Just looked him up on PCS, his stats this season are insane for a 16yr old, definitely going to follow his progress.

His Dad was an absolute charger, wasn't he?
Hopefully it's a case of 'different times'.
