Think he burned absolutely everything he had left in the tank to try and hang onto Remco and didn't quite manage. After that he was only headed in one direction. Tenth was probably a decent result to salvage in the circumstances.

Well everyone on the podium fully deserved to be there, sad for Skjelly, but he'll be there another day

I felt for him coming 4th - apparently he's not thrilled about Ayuso joining Lidl-Trek and I wonder if he felt he needed to prove himself as a worthy leader there. A podium would have been helpful.

Various jabs, I doubt there’s a direct flight from Slovenia, not sure how easy it would be to get a hotel and arrange transfers. Maybe it’s better set up for tourists than I give it credit for though as I know they’ve been targeting tourism (which is one of the things behind cycling over there).

According to Skyscanner there are direct flights. Most countries are interlinked with flights.

The reverse order and distance to the finish was inversely proportional to the position on the podium ....show all your working out in the margin

GIven the weather 6 years ago Harrogate must have been pretty attritional. After the overnight rain its been sunny day, if only it was then. My overriding memory of the day is MVP blown up crawling up the Otley Road.
