I've only been to the one at Ambleside and I never knew about the Whitby pub, that'll be the next. They all look great to me.

This is really sad, but I have cycle toured and drunk in most of these over the years!


I can honestly say that (albeit in sections) I have cycled to all of these pubs except:

The Dove Hammersmith
Crown Posada Newcastle
Ye Olde Trip Nottingham
The Pelican Tacolneston

The Skirrid and the Drunken Duck. There's loads of pubs way better than the Drunken Duck.

Apparently the bloke who was sent to review it tried to use his mobile phone in plain sight of the landlord........ never seen again !

Crown Posada- never thought of it as special- it's small and dark and very, very serious.
The Bridge at Wylam is better and friendlier- lots of local beers and if there's been a do on they give the food away after!
Drunken Duck- people think it's special so they can charge silly money for everything.... off the beaten track but popular with groups of friends up from London, driving expensive Audis, new Landrovers and X5s, in Barbours and rugby shirts, in the Lakes for the week-end. You know the type.
Try The Swinside for a better friendlier traditional pub

Or further north, The Lake Road Inn in Keswick.

Mind you it's about seven years since I last went in so it might have changed a bit for all I know.
