I'm thinking about switching out the rockshox on my 29er for some carbon forks - as most of my riding with the 29er is on towpaths (rural - not tarmac) and cycle tracks (tarmac)

Has anybody done this and what difference did you feel??

ps i have already changed the 2.4" tyres to 35mm Schwalbe Sammy Slicks running at 70psi front and back

Do your Rockshoxs lock out? If not it might be a better idea to get some suspension forks that do lock out, that way you will have the best of both worlds.

they do lock out, but ive never unlocked them as its not really needed were i ride. some of the towpaths here used to be really rocky and muddy, but its been levelled now and gravelled not tarmac'ed so suspension just isnt needed.
