Why does it matter?
It might be a better idea to improve the quality of posting rather than the quantity.
I agree, but. the idea behind this thread was & is to get people posting. Single word posts that could be a single post whilst they increase the number of posts, do little for the forum. And they have appeared in nearly every section at some time or other.
Given the average number of members visiting each day has been around the 850 mark average wise, why such a poor posting rate. Points well made will attract responses from other posters.
The quality of the posts made is down to those who make them, so what do we do about that?
A figure can be measured & agreed upon fairly easily, quality is harder to measure.

This thread doesn't serve any useful purpose so I'm closing it. I'm not interested in hitting some arbitrary post count total - I could get us to 7,000,000 posts easily using automated RSS feed scraping - but I'd rather we just let people post as normal and we get to the "millionth" post milestones naturally, not in some prescribed / forced way.
