I got paid on Tues, so did the monthly fill up on mine £70 & the computer thingy tells me I can do 600 miles -That will alter depending on how/where I drive, couple of long distance drives ccoming up over next few weeks so doubt that £70 will last long - I wish i could use my bike for everything

I've got a trip to the Lake District planned for this weekend - 600+ mile round trip, going to have to fill up twice (get about 450 from the tank on my 10 year old A-Class). Looking at about £120.

Ouchie.

I get over 50 mpg from my diesel Citroen, doesn't alter the pain in the wallet when it needs fuel! I need to put about 60 litres in at the moment, so that'll be nearly £85 worth. I've got my useage down so that that'll last me 6 weeks, but it's still nearly £750 a year. I'm trying to get bikes and walking to take up some more of the miles but there's a limit to how far that process can go.

With servicing, VED, insurance and so on the actual running cost is at least double that - roll on the day when we can sensibly get rid of one car!

I last fuelled my car in June last year...........

I last taxed it in February last year..........

I last insured it in July 2009

What have I done with all the savings?

Spent it all on bikes of course
