Have one. Never bothered to try it.
I wouldn't pay a premium for it.

Not worth it. Even Sky stopped broadcasting in 3D a while back.

You'd be paying for something that can't be used.

Well used to be good when sky had some 3D content...still worth getting if you have a 3D blueray...Gravity is awesome in 3D ...but i havnt watched anything like this for 18 months so suspect it was the usual rip off technology ' next best thing' just like 4k

As with any 'new' technology', just wait a while and buy one at half the price once the niggles have been ironed out!
They've given up with the "ironing".

Utterly pointless IMO, my TV has it, never used, never will

If genuinely interested, AV forums is the place for info from enthusiasts  some people like it for gaming (also utterly pointless IMO  ) or for cartoons for the kids (although one type of 3D, can't recall which isn't suitable for little uns)

I bought one about four years ago, never really used it.

3D wasn't the reason behind buying it, there just happened to be a good deal on that model at the time.

Are programmes broadcast in 3D, I've no idea as I don't watch much TV?

Few. There was a very small bit of Planet Earth 2 that popped up as being in 3D, was never going to be able to get the glasses ready to be able to watch!

Why did you buy a 3D TV, or any TV, if you don't watch TV (unless others do)

The Samsung we got about a year ago has some technology that converts non-3D programs into 3D. You get some fancy 3D glasses with the TV. Of course when you first get the TV you have a play about with this and it's clever stuff. Since then the 3D glasses haven't been out of the box

The guys installing the TV said this Samsung 3D technology was good enough to mean that there was no point in buying the actual 3D package from Sky

3D is defunct but being kept on life support by a desperate cinema industry who are losing out to low cost(or illegally free) movie downloads and are trying to maintain a fake demand for a difference.

So true.
I never go to a 3d film if a 2d option is available. The glasses annoy me and the screen is blurry on the perifary.
VR may be the next big thing, but i suspect it will only have niech usage.
There is no appetite for a 3d or VR version of Coronation Street.

It's annoying. My local screens from work are the amazing Leicester Square cinemas. Yet they insist on showing 3D. When they switch to 2d in smaller screens they're usually packed.
