Vacuuming, dusting, just keeping your home generally tidy. Do you bother or have you like me given up, finding it hard to keep on top of?

Thanks for he replies so far! I did think on posting this thread that I'd be in quite a small minority, but it seems I'm not! :okay: My plans for this afternoon are to go to the laundry, wash the dishes etc when I get back, maybe vacuum my living room carpet even the stairs if I have the time and check on my parents and grandparents graves to see if those annoying grass cutters/strimmers have left cut grass all over them. If I were to tell the above to a therapist they'd give me probably 8 out of 10 for effort. Though saying I intend doing them and actually doing them are not quite the same! If I can do the laundry and check those graves I'll give myself a pat on the back.

I've managed to go to the laundry and brush the cut grass off my parents and grandparents graves today, but I've yet to do the washing up and it's now too late to vacuum my living room and stairs as It'll take me a good 40 minutes to hang my laundry here and there around my flat. After I've done that I'm going to do the washing up.

If you get a professional local person or company they wont risk their reputation by stealing something. Also you can be there whilst they are etc. You dont have go out.
At the end of the day its upto you but you dont want it to get to the point of no return where the neighbours call the council or you get rats and mice etc or other pests.

It's not THAT bad in my flat! It only needs dusting and stuff! I don't have takeaway containers etc on the floor or anything like that! I'm more untidy than a health hazzard. As for the neighbours, her below's in minging, but lets not go there eh! The other night I spent a good half hour wiping my front/outside door down, getting dust and bits of much caused by the annoying big trees around here! I looked at her's below me which is right next to my door and it's absolutely filthy! Ok, let's go there a little! As I've posted many times before her and lazy son just sit there all day doing sweet FA when they could tidy the place up a bit!

Thinking about it, the NHS 'mental health team' I have contact with said I might be eligible for some kind of home help due to my mobility problems and age, but they said I have to contact the address they gave me, not them do it for me. Being lazy with things like that a month later I still haven't got round to contacting the address they gave me, but I will try to do so next week!

My partner vacuums weekly or as required. We clean toilets etc every fortnight but I often clean the toilet in-between. It is a "lived in" house, lots of activity, a cat and a dog. Weirdly my partner is in hospital for a week and my parents and sister have offered to come and do the cleaning! I think it can wait for a week without issue.

My ex was not good at housekeeping so I did the hoovering and cleaning. The place was a state but when you get used to it you become desensitized. I remember going to see one of my partners friends once, they rented a damp cottage and had a dog with no tongue so it drooled everywhere. The stench was so bad I was nearly sick, but they didn't seem to notice or care
