I'm curious about the pedals, are they flip over spd jobbies? I'm looking for some pedals for a single speed I'm building, I want to start using spd shoes but I think they would be a pain for the commute.

They're great. They're flats on one side, SPD on the other. I bought them in case I wore normal shoes on my commute, but never do

Which way round do the pedals sit when not clipped? I mean if was to put them on the single speed I'm building and was riding the bike without SPD shoes on which way would the pedals sit when I stopped at traffic lights?

I honestly cant remember. But I do remember being able to pedal on both sides just starting off.. so there's no messing about in traffic, get going and then sort which side out after. The SPD side is wide and supportive with normal shoes on. The only reason I bought dedicated SPD's is that I just hardly ever used the flats
