As long as I breathe, I attack.
Glorified pub crawl on bikes, by the 10 pub it might be a bit interesting trying to ride straight .

How about - getting someone (wives/girlfriends?) to drive a support car/van with tent(s) sleeping bags etc. and the fellas (or with cycling other halves) ride the 60 miles early on Saturday to a suitable area where you know there are good pubs with real ale, get the tents up, drink the pub dry, sleep in the tent(s) and ride home lunch time on Sunday.
Support vehicle:rolleyes:.
He's only going to be 60, you don't believe in throwing down a challenge do you?.

This is more the kind of thing I had in mind, although Mrs Gti can't drive far thanks to a pelvic injury caused by.... too much time in the car.

I thought that was a good idea till you mentioned tents.... for a 60th I'm sure you could splash out and have a caravan:whistle::biggrin:

Ok, here's one for you starting a bit nearer home ... ride the 130 miles Yorkshire Dales Cycleway in a weekend, stopping at a Dales pub halfway? It begins and ends in Skipton so that is pretty easy for you to to get to. If you wanted to be more ambitious, cycle to and from Skipton as well, which would mean doing about 95 miles on both days. Or make it a long weekend and stop at Dales pubs on the Friday and Saturday evenings after tackling about 65 miles each day.
