7DayShop cam charging issue?

I have had my bullet cam that I bought from 7DayShop for a couple of weeks now, used less than 5 times since I've had it..

The thing that is bugging me is the charging light, it is supposed to slowly flash red when charging and then another light goes green when fully charged. Number one query is when the switch under the cap at the back is switched to the "off" position, no charging lights show at all, just the blue power light. The lights only come on when it is switched to the "on" position.
Number two; it takes ages to charge, first time was fine and it took a few hours but I left plugged into my PC at work all day and it was still flashing red, no sign of the green light after 5+ hours. It has sat plugged into my home PC since 6:30 and is still flashing after the commute home.
Number three; for some reason it failed to flash red normally at some points during the day, it was flashing red but in very quick succession, just blinking on and off. It should be a slow flash so I have no idea what was going on there.


I don't know if this is a sign of a knackered battery or not, there was one other report of such an incident in a thread on here.

A bugger if I have to return it as I didn't keep the box, Doh!

Forgot to say it still works, just curious as to whether the issue with the charging indicator lights is anything to be concerned about?

no theres nothing to worry about when the switch is in the off position the cam can be used as a web cam and yes it takes hours and hours for it to fully charge at which time no other light will come on just the red one will stop flashing hope this is off some help.

Bugger, this mornng I turned it on and it immediately ran out of battery even after charging for at least 4 hours. I'll try again tonight and see how it goes.

I was looking to get one of these, but what's put me off until now is uncertainty about the battery.

I was thinking I could fashion an external battery pack for it with NiMH batteries that wouldn't be too heavy and would allow me to use it for longer without having to worry about charging the internal battery. I know you can use a car lighter adapter with it, so I was wondering - does this mean it requires 12v to run? What amps does it need?

The trouble is that the USB port on a PC will only give you about 400mAh of power. Try charging it from a mains adapter that has a USB port.

+1 My phone takes about 6 hours to charge via PC USB, but only half an hour from a mains USB charger.

I'll be interested to know the result.
