8 Speed upgrade

Want to upgrade my 8 speed Specialized sirrus to a lighter better quality chainset. Trouble is I can't find anythin better than alivio online which specialized told me is not much better. Shall I leave it or can you guys recommend anything..

Just the chain set then. Any Deore, SLX or XT will work. Try and get last years model to save some cash.

You will need hollow tech bottom bracket fitting.
