JE James Cycles Bikes Warehouse Burglary
JE James Cycles had their warehouse broken into on Sunday 22[sup]nd[/sup] August between the hours of 1.40am and 4.00am. We are currently fixing the damage caused by the thieves, but in the burglary had nearly 100 bikes stolen.

After the trauma of Sunday evening, the damage caused by the thieves is being fixed and extra precautions are promptly being put into place to stop such criminal activity. The thieves stole 97 bikes in total which makes this the biggest break in that we’ve ever experienced. The bikes were loaded in to two vans before the criminals fled the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning. One of the vans was a silver transit van, and the other was a white Iveco transit van. I’d like to inform our online customers that this will not effect our daily duties and orders will still be despatched and processed as normal. Any of our customers who have already placed orders that will be effected by this incident will be contacted as soon as possible.

The bikes we had stolen were a mixture of Giants and Dahon’s, so if you see anything then let us know.

The stolen list:

Giant Talon 3 2010
16” x 3
18” x 33
20” x 36

Giant Talon 3 Womens 2010
13.5” x 1
16” x 4
18” x 1

Dahon Matrix Folding Bike 09
Small x 19

If you follow the below links you can see what the bikes look like:

Dahon Matrix Folding Bike 09

We cannot guarantee the frame numbers on the missing bikes at this stage but we will update as soon as that information is available.

If anyone can offer information we would highly appreciate the help, if you see or hear anything suspicious please call or email us with the details.. Many thanks for reading.

I guess these guys were a seriously organised gang of scumbags probably involved in all sorts of other criminal activity too - let's hope the law catches them soon.

It wouldn't be easy to sell-on these bikes without looking very dodgy - perhaps they are heading to continental Europe.

They couldnt have had a great security system . Loading them into vans would have taken quite a while.

I've often told them that the flimsy combination lock on the door is not an ideal way to secure their bikes...

Hope they catch the scrotes soon and throw the book at them.

ATTENTION !!!!

It is very possible, that some stolen Giant bikes are in Lithuania.

Translation:

The newest Giant Talon models

"Hydraulic disc brakes, stock models, 16" - for persons 155 - 165 cm height, there are bikes 17.5", 20.5" and 23" for persons height 190 cm, also Trek and Ghost bikes size 17.5"

Ausra - If JeJames have the police involved and they are actually trying to solve this crime then it might be worth bringing this site to their attention?

"We would never get approval to seek a prosecution or extradition from Lithuania - it wouldn't be something that we would be able to do, it would be classed as causing an international incident and it's not seen as big enough to risk that"

That's what I was told by the police after investigations revealed the source of a quite large fraud operation

The retail value of the bikes was £30-40K, it'll be wriiten off as an isnsurance loss.

Our warehouse gets raided every year, they get away with £20-30K of stock every time, we've spent double that on security and it still happens.

we made £1 billion profit as a company last year, we just write it off, it's not even insured !!

The police are involved as a matter of course just for admin purposes.
