This may be considered sacrilege on here but the ITV TDF theme tune just doesn't do it for me. Surely you want something that does for the Tour, what The Chain does for Formula One. How about the opening to Baba O'Riley, by the Who? Cut back on the synth intro a bit and keep it going until a few bars after the drums come in. I could just see that over a dramatic action-packed montage of sprints, climbs, descents, crashes, wins etc.

Any alternative suggestions?

You're so right. It IS sacrilege. For me, it's the best chune on the telly.

As an alternative suggestion, may I suggest they stick to what works? As this does. Eye thenk yew.

Hmm, the second link leaves a little to be desired.

As for the ITV tune we currently have, it's perfectly pleasant, and admirably suited to, say, a documentary on the history of accordions, but as the uplifting clarion call to tune in to an epic sporting struggle?....

Sticking with The Who... just love the build up in this... nice crescendo and rhythm to set backdrop of sprint finishes / raised arms / crashes etc.. before it fades prior to the lyric starting.
