Good news Steve.

I broke my little finger on my left hand (I'm right-handed so the same problem as you) - it was a weird sort of internal break but pronounced Very Traumatic (too right, it was on the stage of the Globe theatre in front of about 850 people) - I actually let it set on its own because there was no blood and I thought I could still move it. Had to have it re-broken and re-set when it set itself at a right-angle.

Anyway, my point is, do whatever physio they give you as if your life depended on it. And I'm afraid you will find that the grip in that hand will never be as good again, sadly.

I hadn't thought of the grip strength aspect - I can see that might be a problem, though hopefully Steve will get away with it.
Yes, it was a surprise to me, but it's something to do with the little finger being at the end and closing the grip. The end joint of my left pinkie doesn't fold in like it used to so my grip isn't complete. Actually though, sitting here and clenching my fists to try them out, it has got better over the years - it was 15 years ago this week that I broke it, so maybe it should have! It doesn't affect my life much, I must say, so I'm hoping the same for Steve.

Get well and mend quickly Steve.

All the best. Fingers crossed for your bike too.....

I broke, dislocated and snapped the tendon in my right little finger in one go. Got away without any op though as wasn't a bad break, just had to wear a pink cast for ages and then had huge amounts of physio to stop it from healing claw like

It was made from moulded plastic and Velcro straps actually! Like the sort you have if you break your foot bones, but miniature, and neon pink with giant red straps.

I ment to say my fingers fine now
