Forum was unreachable for me for most of the day from 4pm onwards, my ISP confirmed they couldn't reach it either.

Thank goodness other people had the same problem. I thought it was just me jinxing up another bit of tech kit by pressing the wrong buttons.
One question here. How do people regard SUSTRAN?.
Reason I ask is that I get the impression that they have shot them selves in the foot with the way they have treated people around here. I know that the few dealings I have had with them I found them very high and mighty.

I could not access the forum myself all night, but what made it stranger was the fact that I thought I would "defect" to the other side and have a look in the "YACF" forum and found that I could not access that one either till very late last night. So I began to think is there a hacking attack on cycling forums going on.

I had the same issues, for a moment I thought Admin had 'super duper banned' me for one too many unreasonable requests!

My guess is an outage with a DNS server somewhere, as mapmyride.com were also unreachable for me, as was webmail for one of my contacts

Those whose route did not go through the affected server were OK, hence it being OK for some and not others

YACF was OK last night, in fact I posted on the cyclechat down thread, which makes a change, since historically it's been the other way around!

Does anyone know what happened? I was able to ping the server which responded to the cyclechat.net IP, but got no response from an actual web server on the domain.

I just got a message from Mr. Gates saying bog off. So I checked YACF and found that Alec had the same problem, so not, therefore, the usual DZ computer stupidity (me and the computer both, that is), and then found that somebody had been flirting with plagiarism. Pffft....best not to know, frankly.
