Its not bargain of the year, or a particular amazing deal. Winstanley bikes and many other retailers have it marked up at £499. Your saving a touch under fifty quid at best.
yep for such money a carbon fork should be something one can expect on many bikes of that market
have you looked at any of the boardmans? or even the carrera's from halfords if set up and/or built correctly by either LBS or yourself

Will only be riding (dry weather) on cycle paths (tarmac) 15/25 miles max, odd 1 or 2 miles will be light gravel and about 3 miles riding on the roads to get to cycle paths.
Personally I wouldn't make carbon forks a deciding factor in buying a bike at that price point . Youll end up buying something because it has carbon forks and ignoring all the other factors on other bikes because they don't have one component .
Personally, the carbon fork is the one component I wouldn't live without given a) the state of the roads around here and b) my history of tennis elbow. Much more than say disc brakes or a slightly better groupset. However, each to their own.
