Finally managing to get this steel beast down to the bare metal.

And no, the front brake wont come off, and neither will the seatpost.

I was right about that saddle
if the front brake bolt/nut is rusted

i had success recently by unscrewing the whole caliper off the front
leaving the rusted nut still in the forks

Yes, I think I should be able to twist it off, it is moving - then I can hammer the bolt out.

It is going to look A1.

I am planning on painting it black, and having a two white sections with some gold banding. I will de-decal the wheels I have, they are really old NET2000's.
The components are all Campag.

I have no idea what the frame is, all I have found is Gipiemme Patent on the rear drop-outs.

Bit like this....(for the white sections)

now the frame is in a 'cannot be scratched any more '' condition

i'd have a go at getting the BB out

sure as eggs is eggs, 6months down the line you'll need to replace the BB

Yes, you are right. I need to soak it in that gunk overnight. Will look up what I need to get.
