OK, cycling in this morning, realising I only pass one 'fuel' pump on my commute in (more on the way home), I thought this might be a funny, if potentially dangerous challenge.

Dangerous, in the fact motorists might think you are taking the 'wee wee' whilst they fill up with extremely expensive dino juice.

I know most of us drive too. Let's see what I can get on my way 'home'.

Would we do a thing like that?

I recall the big fuel pickets of 2000. A flash of my warrant card and bypassed the queue, straight to a pump. Alternatively, Id cycle by the queues of cars pointing and laughing as I went. Either way, it was great fun!

I was driving a 2.5 V6 on a 60 mile return trip when those fuel strikes happened. I was drafting HGV's with the car ticking over to just get to work. Amazing fuel economy when you do that. PS the car wasn't my choice - it's what the employer had as a company car when I started.
